Program Details

Overview: This bill expands the type of employee eligible for benefits under the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993.  Instead of requiring employees to have been employed for at least 12 months and at least 1,250 hours, eligible employees only need to have been employed for at 90 days. Also, the definition of participating employer is expanded to include those employing 1 or more employees, rather than 50 or more under the current Act.
