Specifically, it includes 350 commitments from federal agencies for actions to support family caregivers within its existing programs and authorities and an additional 150 recommendations for state and local governments, businesses, and advocates. The report also included a brief discussion of actions for Congress, with 25 high-level policy recommendations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-453e05d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"453e05d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Policy recommendations are categorized into five primary goal areas. Each goal area includes up to ten specific recommendations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4333797 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4333797\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">\tGoal 1: Increasing Awareness of Family Caregivers. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c2e5e2a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c2e5e2a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Family caregivers\u2019 physical, emotional and financial well-being will improve because of expanded awareness, outreach, and education.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0cc4d1c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"0cc4d1c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Goal 2: Engaging Family Caregivers as Partners in Healthcare and Long-Term Services and Supports. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2a0fa76 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2a0fa76\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Family caregivers are recognized, engaged and supported as key partners with providers of health care and long-term services and supports (LTSS).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e924060 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e924060\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Goal 3: Improving Access to Services and Supports for Family Caregivers. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d4f0063 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d4f0063\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Family caregivers have access to an array of flexible person- and family-centered programs, supports, goods and services that meet the diverse needs of family caregivers and care recipients.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e5be294 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e5be294\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Goal 4: Supporting Financial and Workplace Security for Family Caregivers.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8d13864 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8d13864\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Family caregivers\u2019 lifetime financial and employment security is protected and enhanced.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-088619c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"088619c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Goal 5: Generating Research, Data, and Evidence-Informed Practices. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-90f1b0a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"90f1b0a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Family caregivers are engaged stakeholders in a national research and data gathering infrastructure that documents their experiences, translates evidence into best practice, develops person- and family-centered interventions, and measures progress toward the National Family Caregiver Strategy.<\/p><p>Following publication of the National Strategy, stakeholder organizations, family caregivers, and providers were invited to comment on its recommendations, with the goal of improving and enhancing the blueprint for supporting family caregivers. Over 600 responses were received and analyzed, offering insight into additional policy recommendations important for caregiver support.<\/p><p>In 2024, ACL submitted to Congress a <a href=\"https:\/\/acl.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2024ProgressReport_StrategyToSupportCaregivers.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Progress Report<\/a> with an update on the status of federal agencies\u2019 implementation of the 350 commitments in the 2022 National Strategy.\u00a0 The report stated that virtually all the agency commitments had been completed or were in process and that agencies had made 40 additional commitments.
