Program Details
Overview: The bill establishes a “Commission on Long-Term Care.” Members will be appointed by the President and Congress. They must have experience within home and community-based services; labor and workforce; and advocacy for patients and caregivers.
Study Commission Focus
This Commission will make policy recommendations to: Congress; the President; and appropriate Federal agencies, regarding caregiver supports. workforce stability, aging in place, long-term care coverage, and other recommendations to support seniors, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers. The Commission will develop recommendations in consultation with state and county aging agencies, other stakeholders, and MedPAC and MACPAC (congressional agencies that advise on Medicare and Medicaid policy respectively).
