Program Details
Overview: This bill requires the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to recognize caregivers of veterans by identifying them in the veteran’s health record. The VA must notify veterans and caregivers of clinical determinations made relating to claims, tier reduction, or eligibility for or termination of assistance under specified caregiver programs.
Extension of Benefits
The bill requires the VA to temporarily extend benefits under the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers for at least 90 days after the receipt of notice that a veteran is no longer clinically eligible for the program.
