Supporting Caregivers Act
This bill promotes quality and best practices to support family caregivers and older related caregivers through the Older Americans Act’s (OAA) National Caregiver Support Program.
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow for contributions to the Alzheimer’s Research and Caregiving Trust Fund, and for other purposes.
This bill creates a voluntary federal income tax write-off allowing taxpayers to contribute to a new “Alzheimer’s Research and Caregiving Trust Fund.” The Trust Fund supports caregiver services and biomedical research.
Caregivers Access and Responsible Expansion (CARE) for All Veterans Act
This bill expands eligibility for the Family Caregiver Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs to include members of the Armed Forces or veterans who are seriously injured or who became ill (or who aggravated an injury or illness) on active duty before September 11, 2001 (currently limited to service after September 11, 2001).
Military and Veteran Caregiver Services Improvement Act of 2017
This bill protects veterans and caregivers from losing benefits due to regulatory eligibility changes.
Support Our Military Caregivers Act
This bill improves the appeals and review process for the VA Caregiver Support Program (CSP). It permits independent external review of denied caregiver applications.
Caregiver Program Information Improvement Act of 2017
The bill requires the Department of Defense to provide information about caregiver supports to service members during pre-separation counseling.
