The bill amends the Public Health Service Act to increase the number of permanent palliative care faculty at: accredited allopathic and osteopathic medical schools; nursing schools; and other programs to promote education and research in palliative care and hospice.
The bill authorizes a three-year grant program for eligible organizations offering home visiting programs for family caregivers.
The bill amends the Older Americans Act of 1965 to provide grants to eligible entities to train and support families and unpaid caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
The bill authorizes the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish the Caregiver Skills Training Pilot Program.
The bill requires that Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) sets up a national technical assistance and grant program to support the direct care workforce and family caregivers.
